Terms of participation

1. Operator and acceptance

These terms govern use of www.qgf.org and entry into the QGF Global Portfolio Challenge. The operator is QGF Limited. Submitting a registration form, a monthly fund-change form, or a rationale constitutes acceptance by every named team member. The numbered Rules of the Challenge are incorporated into these terms. If a marketing sentence on the homepage and a numbered rule ever differ, the numbered rule controls.

2. Eligibility and teams

You warrant that you are an eligible student (or an approved courtesy-entry graduate, or a registered mentor) as described in the FAQ. You will not register a second scoring seat in the same season. You will not submit a form on behalf of another team. Mentors will not make investment decisions. Faculty coordinators do not acquire intellectual-property rights in student rationales merely by coordinating a cohort.

3. Simulated nature — no real-money advice

All funds, prices and balances are simulated. Nothing on this website or in a factor pack is an offer to buy or sell a security, a personal investment recommendation, or a prediction of future real-market returns. You will not represent a QGF ranking as a regulated performance advertisement. QGF is an educational competition, not a broker, not a fund manager, and not a CFA Institute, Wharton, SIFMA, SIC or Bloomberg programme.

4. Conduct

Prohibited conduct is listed in the rulebook and includes: using material non-public information; fabricating sources; letting a generative model file the allocation; harassing other teams; attempting to probe or disrupt the forms platform; and claiming a certificate you were not issued. The committee may disqualify a team, zero a process pillar, or refuse a future season. Rule 15 makes announced results final.

5. Intellectual property

You keep copyright in your rationale. You grant QGF Limited a non-exclusive licence to quote from it, with attribution to the team name (not necessarily to individual surnames), for education, judging and publicity of the Challenge. The QGF marks, including the navy, pink and white wordmarks, remain ours; see the visual identity page. You will not imply that a neighbouring competition listed on The Field has endorsed you or us.

6. Certificates

Certificates are issued after awards at the committee’s discretion. A valid certificate is one that verifies on cert/verify.html with an intact checksum. We may revoke a certificate if it was issued in error or if the underlying result is set aside for proven misconduct discovered within the retention window. Revocation is recorded so that a later lookup fails rather than silently showing an old PDF.

7. Websites and availability

The site is provided “as is”. We will try to keep submission windows open for the advertised interval. A confirmed platform outage may lead to a reopened window for affected teams; a forgotten password will not. We are not liable for lost ranking opportunities beyond offering a fair procedural remedy.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, QGF Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a decision you make in a real portfolio after competing. Our aggregate liability arising out of a season is limited to GBP 50, which is more than the entry fee of zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Privacy

Personal data is handled under the privacy notice. Public leaderboards show team names and balances. They do not have to show your legal name. Certificates do show a name you asked us to print.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms for a future season; the version linked at registration governs your season. These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without prejudice to mandatory student-consumer protections in your place of residence. Disputes about sporting results follow Rule 15; disputes about these terms that are not sporting results may be sent first to program@qgf.org.
